Connecticut Online Lottery

The Connecticut Lottery offers online ticket sales and keno to customers physically present within state lines. Players 18 and above can download the CT Lottery app or visit CTiLottery.org to order tickets to draw games and play keno online.

State law permits the CT Lottery to offer online keno and tickets to draw games only, so players should not sign up expecting to buy scratch-offs online in Connecticut. The complete list of Connecticut online lottery games includes:

  • Powerball
  • Mega Millions
  • Lucky for Life
  • Lotto!
  • Cash 5
  • Play4
  • Play3

Players can play Connecticut Lottery games online by visiting CTiLottery.org or downloading the mobile app, signing up for accounts, and depositing via one of the following payment methods:

  • Personal bank account

  • Debit card

The CT Lottery automatically pays all prizes of $599 or less directly to customers’ accounts. Players who win prizes of $600 or more must claim their winnings at the CT Lottery headquarters in Wallingford.

Players can download the CT Lottery app to buy tickets online, play keno for real money in Connecticut, scan tickets for winners, and much more.

Overall, the Connecticut Lottery app is one of the better official state lottery apps BettingUSA has reviewed. New users can view a short tutorial to learn about the app’s features before diving right in to play the CT Lottery online or use any of its various other features.

The app’s most noteworthy features include:

  • Buy Tickets Online: Players can buy lottery tickets online in Connecticut from anywhere in state lines at face value, meaning there are no convenience fees or upcharges. What you pay at the store for a ticket is what you pay on the app.
  • Play Keno Online: The CT Lottery app offers online keno every four minutes, with prizes worth up to $100,000.
  • Hot & Cold Numbers: When picking their numbers for any game, players can flip the hot/cold switch to highlight all the latest hot and cold numbers for that game.
  • CT Lottery Ticket Scanner: Players can use the Connecticut Lottery ticket scanner feature to check if their draw game tickets or scratch-off cards are winners using their phone’s camera.

Play4 is like Play3, but players choose four numbers from 0-9 instead of three.

The prizes are bigger, but the probability of winning is lower. For example, you would win 5,000 to 1 for a successful Straight wager on Play4, but the probability of winning drops from 1 in 1000 to 1 in 10,000.

You have the same wagering options as with Play3, all of which are adjusted to compensate for the additional digit.

The easiest way to think about the CT Lottery’s “Fast Play Games” is to imagine scratch-off tickets printed on demand when you play. In Connecticut, such games often participate in a progressive jackpot that grows larger as the games in that series continue to be played.

Connecticut’s Fast Play games are available for $1 to $20 per play. Fast Play games with multiple pricing options offer tiered jackpot payouts based on the amount wagered. For example, a game with $2, $5, and $10 play options may provide the following progressive jackpot payouts:

  • $2 play wins 20% of the progressive jackpot
  • $5 play wins 50% of the progressive jackpot
  • $10 play wins 100% of the progressive jackpot.

Players can see all active Fast Play games and current jackpot amounts here.

In the CT Lottery Keno game, you choose between 1 and 10 numbers from between 1 and 80. The more numbers you choose that match the numbers in the drawing, the bigger the prize.

You can buy into a CT Lottery Keno game at any of these price points:

  • $1
  • $2
  • $3
  • $4
  • $5
  • $10
  • $20

The payouts are based on multiples of the amount you risk, so the more you bet, the more you stand to win.

Connecticut Lottery Keno also features a random multiplier that doubles the cost of your ticket but multiplies your potential prize up to 10x.

Note: Keno has a maximum prize of $1 million regardless of multipliers or wagering amounts.

Payouts vary based on how many spots you select.

If you only choose to play two numbers, you must match both to win, and the prize is 11 to 1. The odds of winning are 1 in 16.6.

At the other end of the spectrum, if you choose ten numbers, the pay table looks like this:

  • 10 Matches: $100,000
  • 9 Matches: $5,000
  • 8 Matches $500
  • 7 Matches: $50
  • 6 Matches: $15
  • 5 Matches: $2
  • Zero Matches: $4

The Connecticut Lottery offers dozens of scratch games at any given time, many of which are seasonally-themed. These scratch games are available in the following denominations:

  • $1
  • $2
  • $3
  • $5
  • $10
  • $20
  • $30

Top prizes vary widely. One recently ended game featured a $5 million top prize, and another had a $1 million top prize.

The Connecticut Lottery claims process varies based on the size of the prize.
