FanDuel And Jon Rothstein Sign Exclusive Sports Betting Partnership Deal

FanDuel Group recently announced it teamed up with media personality Jon Rothstein in a unique new sports betting partnership. Rothstein is the host of College Hoops Today and joined the CBS Sports Network in 2010.
The agreement’s timing, a month before March Madness is unlikely a coincidence.
The multi-year partnership names FanDuel as the exclusive sports betting partner of the college basketball insider.
Details of the New Partnership Deal
Per the terms of the new deal, Rothstein can create unique sports betting content via his social media channels. He will also contribute to the digital shows of FanDuel and programming. The host plans to discuss betting options alongside college basketball coverage.
Jonathan Rothstein and FanDuel will work together on publications for the sports betting brand, plus creating customer promotions and incentive offerings for sports fans. For FanDuel, the brand now has access to Rothstein’s name and taglines, including “We Sleep in May.”
Rothstein commented on the new partnership, expressing his excitement about working with FanDuel. The college basketball insider pointed out that as digital media has changed over the years, he has been looking for the right opportunity to combine his content. He feels this is that opportunity.
“College basketball fans have an insatiable desire for content, and I look forward to partnering with FanDuel to give them the best content that they can receive each and every day. There is no ceiling to this marriage, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Rothstein joins several other big names that have signed partnership deals with FanDuel. The brand also works with Charles Barkley, Pat McAfee, Colin Cowherd, and Dr. DisRespect. And this phenomonon isn’t exclusive to FanDuel. DraftKings acquired VSiN and ESPN is actively seeking media partnerships.
FanDuel Group CMO Mike Raffensperger commented as well, stating that Rothstein is an ‘emerging talent with a passionate following.’ The company looks forward to working with him, combining betting and college basketball. Plans include creating a customized betting and basketball experience bringing unique options to college basketball fans.
Launching Services in Louisiana
As FanDuel announces its partnership with Jon Rothstein, the brand also recently launched in Louisiana. FanDuel launched early on January 27, offering players in the state a chance to bet on the NFL Conference Championships last weekend and the upcoming Super Bowl.
The Louisiana Gaming Control Board granted the brand a temporary license, which allowed FanDuel to start offering its mobile sports betting app. FanDuel can operate in the state thanks to a partnership with Boyd Gaming.
The two already work together in the land-based sector, with FanDuel offering sportsbooks at all the Boyd properties, including Sam’s Town Casino, Delta Downs, and Treasure Chest Casino. With the launch of the mobile app, the brand is now a full-service sports betting operator in the state.
Sports fans gained access to online sports betting in Louisiana just a few weeks after FanDuel launched in New York. The brand was one of four operators to gain approval by the NY Gaming Commission to begin offering mobile sports betting in the state.
Along with FanDuel, players gained access to DraftKings, BetRivers, and Caesars Sportsbook online apps.
